Tell your Maryland lawmakers:
Support the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) and Support Maryland’s Roads!
More than 80% of Marylanders choose Maryland’s road and highway systems as their top choice of transportation. We need to ensure new roads can be built to meet today’s demands, and so that existing road infrastructure can be preserved.
This legislation provided additional funding at that time; however, the funding formula does not work in its present-day form:
- There has been significant growth in more fuel-efficient vehicles and electric vehicles, leading to a devastating long-term, steady decline in gasoline sales since 2005.
- The pandemic has caused a new shocking short-term decline in gasoline sales since April 2020.
- Over the same period, highway and heavy construction costs have risen by approximately 50%.
- The lack of a floor on gas prices for the 2013 bill contributes to a major “structural problem” in the funding formula.
We have a chance to help!
Please help keep Maryland moving forward. The investment into the TTF will pay dividends for generations to come, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system for all.
Use the form to send a letter to the Governor and your Maryland lawmakers. Tell them we need to have an immediate infusion of money into the TTF.
